Countesthorpe Community College, Winchester Road, Countesthorpe, LE8 5PR

The John Fraser 10 is recognised as the premier 10 mile road race in Leicestershire and Rutland and in 2014 we successfully staged the event over a new safer course.

In 2014 the men’s race winner was Chris Jordan of Leicester Coritanians in a time of 56:03, just 4 seconds ahead of 2013 winner Tim Hartley of Barrow in 56:07. In third place was Charnwood AC’s Tom Lupton in a time of 56:26. In the 2014 women’s race Nicki Nealon of Huncote Harriers won for a historic 5th time in 62:19. She was followed in 2nd place by Barrow’s Emily Ault in 63:07 and Huncote Harriers teammate Mel Evans in 3rd place in a time of 66:20.The Men’s team title was awarded to Hermitage Harriers and the Women’s team title was won by Barrow Runners.

You can enter the race by entering online through Runner’s World or Runbritain. Individual and block entry forms are available.

Race numbers and chips will be distributed on race day.  For individual entries please go to the Registration area in the Sports Hall. For any runner who enters via a club block entry you will need to collect your number from your designated club official.

We are pleased to have chip timing again this year but it is now a disposable system provided by Leicestershire Running & Athletics Network. It will be attached to your race number and can be disposed of after the race.

There will be toilets, shower & changing facilities and refreshments available at the college.  Please arrive in good time to park and pick up your race number and chip. There is on-site parking at the College but please car share where possible and follow marshals’ instructions. Additional toilets are now available at the playing field for the start and finish.

You will need to allow 10 to 15 minutes to get to the new start area on Willoughby Road directly outside the playing field.  You are requested to warm up on the playing field instead of the road so there is no disruption to the traffic prior to the race.  You will be asked to congregate on the road shortly before the start at 10.30am.

The race finish is on the playing field on Willoughby Road. The presentation of prizes will take place after the race in the Main Hall at the College.

Certificate of course licence for 2018.

Prizes and trophies are presented to the winners after the race in the Sports Hall at Countesthorpe College.
This usually takes place at 12.00.

Another year, another valuable race memento from Wigston Phoenix. In 2016  we are proudly gave away a snood to help keep you warm while out training in the colder months. There were 3 colours in circulation – blue, grey and green, but which one did you get in your goodie bag?!
