Countesthorpe Community College, Winchester Road, Countesthorpe, LE8 5PR

The John Fraser 10 is recognised as the premier 10 mile road race in Leicestershire and Rutland and in 2014 we successfully staged the event over a new safer course.

In 2018 the men’s race winner was Simon Birch of Hinckley RC in a time of 55:05. Paul Featherstone of Hermitage Harriers was 2nd in 56:24 and in 3rd place was Tom Whitmore of Charnwood AC in a time of 57:49. In the women’s race Joanna Male of West End won for the first time in 65:09 beating her runner-up position from the previous year. She was followed in 2nd place by Charlie Nurse of host club Wigston Phoenix RC in 65:54 and Nicola Stevenson of Poplar RC in 3rd place in a time of 66:16.The Men’s team title was awarded to Hermitage Harriers for the 5th year in a row and the Women’s team title was won by West End Runners for the 3rd year in a row.

You can enter the race by entering online through the Event Entry website – see the ENTER page

Race numbers and chips will be distributed on race day.  For individual entries please go to the Registration area in the Sports Hall. For any runner who enters via a club, you will need to collect your number from your designated club official.

We are pleased to have chip timing again this year but it is now a disposable system provided by Leicestershire Running & Athletics Network. It will be attached to your race number and can be disposed of after the race.

There will be toilets, shower & changing facilities and refreshments available at the college.  Please arrive in good time to park and pick up your race number and chip. There is on-site parking at the College but please car share where possible and follow marshals’ instructions. Additional toilets are now available at the playing field for the start and finish.

You will need to allow 10 to 15 minutes to get to the new start area on Willoughby Road directly outside the playing field.  You are requested to warm up on the playing field instead of the road so there is no disruption to the traffic prior to the race.  You will be asked to congregate on the road shortly before the start at 10.30am.

The race finish is on the playing field on Willoughby Road. The presentation of prizes will take place after the race in the Main Hall at the College.

2018 saw the 20th anniversary of the John Fraser 10 road race. In celebration of this, we gave away an eye-catching technical t-shirt as a gesture of thanks and support for all the finishers of the race. 2019 will see another race memento,  but what will it be this year?
